2 viewsOK, this is a little trickery with Photoshop CS4 and demonstrating the clarity of a macro lens. I have to use a tripod for most of my close up photography whether macro or zoom. Being able to enlarge the subject in this manner seemed like a nice touch.

2 viewsThe number of iterations of bees in the Discovery Garden are many. I'm going to try for one of the larger yellow and black model that most animated cartoons were created from. Caught this guy just as I was about to snap the shutter.Jun 04, 2009

2 viewsNow this creature I found in a yellow rose in the Discovery Garden. This is also an illustration of the strength of the glass in a macro/micro lens. I get a chuckle just looking at that spider. His peace was not further disturbed by this photographer.Jun 04, 2009

Pink Melody2 viewsI don't usually put a name for the title but I felt this blossom in early morning light in our backyard roses was really a beautiful melody with its "scales" of cascading petals in profile. Hope you enjoy it.Jun 04, 2009

4 viewsThe texture in this bloom was what caught my eye and the insects simply closed the deal. I was drawn by the linen appearance in the petals. Extraordinary.Jun 04, 2009

2 viewsThis was the best angle I could get with the conditions I met in this particular garden. The garden is called the "Master Gardeners Discovery Garden." It is here in Douglas County, OR. You'll see more from this magical place as well as the gardens my wife and I keep.
Flowers live short lives generally and their influence lingers when we really pay attention to them.Jun 04, 2009

6 viewsEveryone who has held a camera and shoots landscapes falls victim to ferns of any size or display in the spring. This Sword Fern (?) just caught me eye when I was shooting water recently. The red and the metallic green stopped me in my tracks.May 12, 2009

4 viewsCrow on driftwood on the beach at Reedsport, OR. Loved the feel of the toning in sepia of this shot. Converted in Alien Skin Exposure 2 and softly finished in CS4 Curves.May 12, 2009
